The Mediterranean basin is considered one of the main scenarios of the current climate change process.
The accelerated environmental changes that have taken place since the mid-20th century in this area have made it highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
The evidence of climate change in the Mediterranean calls for a response. Given the high level of risk we face, mitigation actions must be complemented by urgent and coordinated adaptive responses.
